Masterclass Webinar 2: Advanced Techniques and Workflows for Multiplex IHC Analysis using HALO® and HALO AI

Date: 25 May 2023
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 PST | 11:00 – 12:00 EST | 16:00 – 17:00 GMT
Location: Webinar

Learn how to tackle challenging multiplex assays using advanced techniques and workflows

Summary

Following up on our Masterclass Webinar 1 for Multiplex IHC analysis, Masterclass 2 will discuss advanced workflows to help users tackle more challenging brightfield multiplex IHC assays. First, we will demonstrate how advanced cell segmentation and phenotyping options using HALO AI can be combined with the multiplex IHC module to improve image analysis. Two alternative approaches for analyzing multiplex IHC will also be demonstrated including a serial stain workflow to convert brightfield images into pseudo-fluorescence images followed by analysis with Highplex FL and a HALO AI-based approach where cell phenotyping is used to identify cells with co-localization of specific stains. We will discuss advantages, disadvantages and use cases for each workflow.

Learning Objectives

  • Advance your multiplex IHC module analysis with HALO AI cell segmentation and phenotyping options
  • Learn how to perform a serial stain image analysis workflow to convert multiplexed immunohistochemistry to pseudo-fluorescent images
  • Learn advantages of AI-based phenotyping and how to perform it with HALO AI

Dr. Kate Lillard Tunstall
Chief Scientific Officer, Indica Labs

Kate Lillard received her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, followed by a Howard Hughes postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. While conducting research in the area of stem cell biology and oncology as a graduate and postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Lillard developed a keen interest in IHC which led to her joining Aperio in 2007 where she supported and then managed image analysis products for digital pathology.  After acquisition of Aperio by Leica in late 2012, Dr. Lillard joined Indica Labs as Chief Scientific Officer where she supports, promotes, and helps guide the development of digital pathology image analysis solutions for the life sciences.
