Dear friends of Indica Labs,

I’d like to take a moment to share some updates and to thank each and every person that has supported Indica through the exceptional challenges of 2020.

While the world struggles with a viral pandemic, the importance of digital pathology has never been clearer. Indica’s products are utilized by every pharmaceutical company that’s been in the news recently for their COVID-19 vaccine and therapeutic production. In a matter of weeks after the start of the pandemic, our HALO Link platform was deployed by the US National Institutes of Health to establish a COVID-19 digital pathology autopsy repository for the research community.  Researchers around the world have cited the use of our technology this year in a string of important peer-reviewed articles that have both broadened the understanding of coronavirus and the immune response to viral infection.

Meanwhile, throughout the pandemic, our customers and partners have continued their critical work in other disease areas such as cancer research and diagnostics. Our scientific and technical teams have supported our entire user-base through their transition to working from home. This paradigm shift has been enabled by digital pathology products and cloud-based service offerings like ours. Prior to the pandemic, we had aggressive growth plans that would have been a challenge in a normal year. Yet, despite the unanticipated obstacles, Indica has continued to grow throughout 2020 and we’ve exceeded every one of our goals. We have delivered our most successful results in company history, by every measure.

We are, of course, extremely fortunate to work in an industry that can function successfully and safely amid a pandemic. We recognize that in other fields, workers put their lives on the line every day. Businesses have been closed temporarily and many have folded permanently. So many Individuals have lost loved-ones, jobs, income, and life as they once knew it. 2020 has felt like the year of all years where Indica should give back in any way that we could. So that’s what we did. As a company, we made generous contributions to several non-profit organizations, such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and four New Mexico-based foodbanks. We also established an employer-sponsored volunteer program to allow our employees to give their time during work hours to foodbanks in their local communities.

My colleagues are probably tired of hearing me say this, but I couldn’t be a more proud member of the Indica team. I’m proud of who we are, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and I’m proud to know that our work is directed towards the world’s most important problems.

On behalf of the Indica team, thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing you a safe and healthy new year.

Sincerely,

Steven Hashagen
CEO, Indica Labs Inc.
