HALO AP® 2.4 Features and Functionalities
In this blog post, we’ll discuss some of the exciting new features and functionalities in the latest release of HALO AP®, the CE-IVDR marked, AI-powered enterprise digital pathology platform from Indica Labs. We will also provide information about when you can expect your chance to upgrade to HALO AP® 2.4, as well as where to find user guides and release notes.
What new features are in the HALO AP® 2.4 release?
Case Conferencing
HALO AP® now offers a shared viewing mode where a presenter’s view of the slide and added annotations and comments are shared with attendees in real-time; perfect for consultations and medical education training. Case conferencing controls are easily accessible in the toolbar for effortless navigation. Users can easily start or join a conference and invite attendees via email, in-app notification, or a copied link. Attendees can also take control of the presentation with a single click!
External Consultants
A new user role for External Consultants has been added to HALO AP®, allowing secure, anonymizable, case sharing with users outside of your institution. Any information shared with an external user can be de-identified at the time of the request, or your institution can opt to always have external consults fully anonymized. Additionally, all activity within assigned cases is auditable, protecting patient information and the pathologist’s work at every step.
DICOM Transfer Module
HALO AP® can now interface with a DICOM-compatible scanner such as the Leica GT-450 and/or a PACS or VNA to import, store, and manage DICOM files. This new functionality promotes interoperability with existing systems and reduces the barrier for enterprise adoption.
Deep Archive Module
Decrease your long-term storage costs with automatic whole slide image archiving! HALO AP® can now be used with Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) for automatic archiving and manual recall of stored slides. The Deep Archive module allows AWS customers to access the deepest S3/Glacial archive levels, resulting in substantial cost savings.
Notification Center
HALO AP® now offers customizable in-app and/or email notifications for case assignments, conference invites, comment mentions, and if configured, notification of your LIS connection health. The customizable notification center allows the user to receive timely in-app notifications, perfect for when you’re away from your email and a second opinion is needed quickly!
Support for HALO® 4.1
HALO AP® now supports the latest versions of HALO and HALO AI 4.1! Experience the latest features, including faster analysis performance and registration improvements. Learn how the update to HALO and HALO AI 4.1 can enhance your clinical workflow within HALO AP 2.4!
Interactive Markup
View and toggle multiple analysis overlays individually or all at once, giving pathologists flexibility when reviewing complex analyses. HALO AP® also supports viewing multiple markups with external 3rd party analyses, including Lunit SCOPE PD-L1 Tumor Proportion Score (NSCLC) and Combined Positive Score (Pan-cancer).
Additional Improvements and Updates
Patient information is now included in the reference section for increased accessibility to prior cases and patient’s age at diagnosis is now shown in the case viewer. Additionally, the entire case annotation view is a new feature, intended for pathologists who review large, multi-slide cases; enabling the pathologist to review all annotations for a case in a single panel and build a mental model of a complex case before it is signed out.
