AI-Powered Image Analysis of HCR™ RNA-ISH Assays
Date: 5 September 2024
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 PDT | 11:00 – 12:00 EDT | 16:00 – 17:00 BST
Location: Webinar
Learn to perform RNA-ISH image analysis on HCR™ RNA-ISH images from Molecular Instruments!
Summary
Join us for a 1-hour webinar in collaboration with our partner, Molecular Instruments, to learn the benefits of HCR™ RNA-ISH assays and to see HALO® image analysis workflows in action.
Michelle Saylor, Business Development Manager at Molecular Instruments, will present a technical introduction to the HCR™ portfolio of in situ hybridization assays and will highlight key advantages of MI’s clinical-grade HCR™ technology, including a protease-free workflow that maintains cell and tissue morphology.
Sara Amirault, Sr. Field Applications Scientist at Indica Labs, will present a comprehensive image analysis workflow of a brightfield assay utilizing the HALO ISH module. Learn about the latest features available in the ISH module and HALO 4.0 including interactive markups and how to leverage AI-based nuclear segmentation. Sara will additionally demonstrate a codetection image analysis workflow to detect probes and proteins in a single fluorescence assay. Using the newly updated FISH-IF module, she will demonstrate how HALO image analysis in fluorescence differs from brightfield and how to use the new FL membrane segmentation algorithm available in HALO 4.0.
Learning Objectives
- Learn the benefits of HCR™ RNA-ISH assays including protease-free amplification for integrity of cell morphology
- Experience a brightfield ISH image analysis workflow with the HALO® ISH module
- Understand the differences between brightfield and fluorescence image analysis and explore the new AI-based membrane segmentation feature in a FISH-IF workflow

Indica Labs
Sara Amirault earned her BS in Biology and Biotechnology in 2018 from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts. During her undergraduate degree, she participated in research opportunities focusing on regenerative biology and fibrosis, continuing in that field during her post-baccalaureate fellowship at the National Institute on Aging, where she investigated the relationship between senescence and wound healing in the skin. Prior to 2021, Sara worked in a microscopy core facility at University of Maryland Baltimore County. She then moved on to her current role at Indica Labs as a FAS, where she provides both pre- and post-sales application support and training to customers for Indica Labs’ research products, HALO®, HALO Link, and HALO AI.
